Traffic Safety

Traffic safety classes are installed in the chief police commissariats of Vilnius, Klaipėda, Panevėžys, Šiauliai, Alytus and Utena counties .

 

The Traffic Safety Department of the Road Police Board of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat has been operating since May 2007. This is the first such class that has been installed in the Lithuanian police station.

 

In the road police units of the Chief Police Commissariats of Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Utena counties, these classes started their activities in the summer of 2009.

 

The Traffic Safety Class of the Road Police Office of the Šiauliai County Chief Police Commissariat opened its doors in 2012. on April 4.

 

A traffic safety class was opened at the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat in 2013. on September 18.

 

The Ukmergė District Police Commissariat of the Vilnius County Chief Police Commissariat also has a traffic safety class (since 1 October 2013).

 

In 2009, 15,133 students and their educators attended traffic safety classes. In 2012, 17,119 students attended road safety lessons in these classes.

 

In 2013, traffic safety lessons in these classes were taught to 18,005 students of non-formal education schools and students of general education schools, their teachers, in 2014 – 15,406.

 

The purpose of traffic safety classes is to create conditions for children of pre-school education institutions, students of general education schools and other members of society to develop and develop their competence as a traffic participant (pedestrian, passenger, driver) in safe traffic, to learn and deepen theoretical and practical knowledge of road safety, to develop respect for human life and its preservation, respect for road users, responsibility for their behavior on the road, to understand the traffic system “Road user-vehicle-road-traffic environment”.

 

Police officers invite everyone, children and adults, to meet together to remember and discuss the basic rules of safe behavior on the road, to listen to important advice from the officers so that there is no accident on the road and each of us happily reaches the destination.
